Our first rescue horse and member of the Ranch Family.
Boo came to us with an injury to her left hind leg back in 2007. She had gotten caught in a fence as a yearling. The owner did not give her the proper Vet care. She had spent several months locked in a stall putting little weight on the injured leg which caused string halt.
A very kind lady who saw her while buying another horse from the owner was able to get her out of that situation and into an Equine rescue group in South Carolina. We adopted her from them not knowing if she would ever be rideable. With love, patience and exercise her leg healed. Her trust grew and she became an amazing trail horse. She has carried my kids and I hundreds of miles. Now she is ready to share her story and help people who also just need love and patience themselves in order to learn to trust and heal, so that they may thrive in a faith filled Life.
Dusty came to us in 2015 who was seized by Animal Control a few months prior due to neglect. Our farrier who had been working with him at the stable where he was boarded by the County and he let us know about this horse. He was six years old at the time and was gelded 6 months earlier. He was green broke with very few hours under saddle. At first, he gave us a little bit of trouble because he was not getting along with our other horses because he still thought he was a stud.
Our daughter Ashlee who was 14 at the time finished his training as a trail horse with guidance from our farrier who was working with him. He is now a perfect gentleman who can be ridden by almost any beginner.
He is ready to serve God by showing everyone how Love, patience and proper care can turn a life around.
Chief is a super sweet Quarter horse who had been abandoned at a friend’s farm where he had been boarded, they continued to care for him for years, but he was just a pasture pet.
In 2019 they called wanting to rehome him because they needed a horse for their granddaughter to learn to ride on. Chief is a big boy and didn’t have a lot of time under saddle. We sent our wonderful, babysitting, confidence building Gidget (Halflinger Mare) to live with them for the grand kids and we took Chief.
After not being ridden for about 10 years he picked it right back up. He is an amazing boy, super sweet and loves attention. A perfect addition to the Ranch family.
He is ready to be friends with someone who feels lost and abandoned. Chief knows how it feels but he also knows Love conquers all.
Betty calls this mare her Angel horse for more than one reason.
She rescued her from the Tarheel Feedlot in March of 2017, she was very underweight and sick (borderline pneumonia). However, she was beautiful to her, she was in a very dark place herself and didn’t want contact with people at all except her kids. She was feeling rejected and alone.
Bacardi also didn’t want anything to do with Betty, she sat in her pasture for hours talking to her while she grazed praying to God asking him to show her how to make it all better. God spoke to her in her dreams showing her how to gain Bacardi’s trust and how to get her to take her Meds. At first, she thought she was losing it then she realized it really was Father God speaking to her and everything started to turn around for Bacardi. However, Betty was still a mess and resisting Jesus’ constant call for her to come home.
A few months later, God placed a wonderful man into Betty’s life. Bacardi was instantly in love with him and soon so was she and know she calls him her husband Rick. She started going to Church, rededicated her Life to Christ, got Baptized and married an amazing husband all within 10 months of saving her Angel horse. God used Bacardi to teach Betty that Jesus really was speaking to her.
Three years later after a calling from God, Betty and Rick find themselves in Sanford, on an amazing 45-acre property, Launched Always Faithful Ranch believing this ministry is going to change so many Lives.
This sweet girl is here waiting to teach everyone she meets that it is OK to Trust God with our lives.
Archie was a 6-yr old Arabian Gelding. He was rescued from Stanley Brothers Feed lot in Louisiana in February of 2019. We bought him from a stable in Fuquay, where he had landed after the original person who pulled him from the lot could not keep him.
We discovered that he has had very little handling and was hard to catch when he 1st got here.
One of our volunteers, “Roxanne” started working with him on gaining his trust. That was just what he needed, His Own Person.
Not long after Archie arrived, he was paired up with one of our teenagers battling some issues, together they are working towards victory. With the help from Roxanne the team made amazing progress, after just three 2-hour sessions the teen was able to retrieve Archie from the pasture, lounge him, saddle him and got on his back and walked around without much fuss.
He is an amazing little horse and we are truly blessed to have him as part of our Ranch family.
Archie would love to meet you and show you what he has learned. You too can learn how to trust again. He is quite proud of himself and loves to run.
For those that have always asked, what does it cost to own or feed a horse? Well, there is a lot more a horse needs then just feeding them. A horse needs their feet trimmed, teeth floated sometimes, cost of veterinarians to do wellness checks and to keep shots updated, some horses require supplements, then there is training and finally the feed and hay cost. The average monthly cost to care for a horse is $250.
Please consider sponsoring a horse. Any amount will help!
